Most Wearable Brand 2022.

Pear Collections were recently featured in the Renaissance Fashion Show organised by the Gold Coast Fashion Project last May 14th 2022 at the Chevron Renaissance Shopping Centre. Our brand and our community couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of this fashion event, which showcased incredible talents the Gold Coast has to offer. We were likewise thrilled to be able to represent Pear-Shaped and Curvaceous Women within the international fashion community. Little did we know that we would be nominated during the fabulous event for the Most Wearable Brand for 2022. Just by simply being recognised and nominated by our peers is already a massive honour and considered a win for us at Pear Collections, that our passion project brand is making a difference in our community’s lives. Never in our wildest dreams have we thought that we would actually WIN the award. But we have, which is fantastic!

What does this Fashion Award entail for Pear Collections? 

We were thrilled to have taken part and be officially announced to the Australian and international fashion community during the Gold Coast Fashion Project’s, Gold Coast Fashion Week. Being nominated and eventually winning gives us the impetus to expand our community, and to continue promoting the work we are doing. This recognition will help us further communicate our brand message – everyone is beautiful inside and out. What this award means for us is that it shows the fashion industry is starting to come around and embracing our capsule + body positivity mindset, and that our efforts are positively impacting others. It is our passion to support and address the ‘pear-shaped’ fitting issue experienced by curvaceous and pear-shaped women the world over.  This win strengthens our resolve that our efforts can be instrumental for the fundamental shift within the fashion industry to design and create clothing based around body positivity and inclusion. Pear Collections’ owner and lead designer Angie Martin is over the moon about this recognition. Everyone’s collections at this event are so good, with talented designers abound, so to be chosen to win this award is a real honour.

A Win for Pears and Curvy Women.

Whether you are already embracing your pear-shaped body with open arms or still in the process of accepting your body type, the fact remains that you need a fabulous wardrobe that fits your style and your natural silhouette. Our win not only show that we are on the right track with our advocacy, not only to help solve the pear-shaped fitting problem, but for women in general to learn, love and accept their curves. We believe this is a vital step towards developing your own style evolution. Our capsule wardrobe and a body positive mindset is a critical step to honing a personal style you feel good in. Your curves are beautiful, and learning how your body shape works with fashion that fits and flatters are foundational elements to body shape wardrobe building. And we, at Pear Collections, are here to support and guide you all the way. The pear-shaped body is the most common body type, which means there should be a lot of shopping options for us. Sadly, this is not always the case. This shopping frustration is what drove Angie Martin, herself a petite-pear, to address this issue head on. Hence, she put up Pear Collections back in 2019. Being accepted, recognised, nominated and winning Most Wearable Brand for 2022 is not just a win for us at Pear Collections, but a win for all pear-shaped ladies. This win may just be the beginning that may drive the fashion industry’s focus to coming up with more fashion options fit for us pears and curvy women everywhere. We couldn’t be more thrilled about this!!! We couldn’t thank Gold Coast Fashion Project enough for this recognition and in showcasing inclusivity and highlighting our indigenous and diverse cultural influences. Furthermore, we look forward to getting involved in future events, and to continue promoting our work for pear-shaped and curvaceous women.
