It’s no secret that Pear Collections was born literally out of Angie Martin’s, our founder, CEO, and head designer’s frustration and tears after another bout with a horrible shopping experience. Knowing full well of her background in business development and fashion design, her partner said, “Then do something about it.”
You see, Angie is a pear-shaped woman, a petite pear to be precise. She has experience working within the industry for years running fashion brands. In fact, she put up her first business designing clothes at age 12. So, why not do something about it and fix the problem of ill-fitting clothing for pear-shaped women.
And she did! Now it has become her mission to eliminate pear-shaped women’s horrible relationship with fashion. Pear Collections create garments and collections for pear-shaped women that suit their curves, and their desire to feel comfortable in their own skin and in the clothes they wear.
Our clothing range is a capsule collection that is made to mix and match with our entire collection. Additionally, she made it the brand’s mission to help curvaceous women embrace and #lovetheircurves, feel beautiful, and celebrate themselves in clothing specifically designed to fit their gorgeous bodies.

Furthermore, seeing the improvement of their businesses and forge ahead of competitors in raising the bar for performance and results in their industry.
Best Body Positive Designed Clothing Brand
It has been Pear Collections’ mantra to help fellow pear-shaped and curvaceous women to #loveyourcurves. Our capsule range is specifically designed for comfort, timeless style, and CURVES.
Little did we know that our efforts would be recognised and be nominated to the Australian Made Awards 2022. Getting nominated for an award is in itself is already considered a massive win for us at Pear Collections.
What honours us is that the nomination was done by our peers in the industry. What this means for us is that it shows that our little passion project brand is starting to make waves and making a difference in our community’s lives.
Never in our wildest of dreams have we thought that we would bag the award and actually WIN. But we have, which is fantastic! The Pear Collections team extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who nominated us for this award as the “Best Body Positive Designed Clothing Brand.”
Being recognised and winning the nomination means we will be able to expand our community and further promote the work we have been doing and further communicate our brand message – everyone is beautiful inside and out. It is our fervent hope that we can be instrumental in a fundamental shift within the fashion industry to begin creating clothing that is based around body positivity and inclusion.

Bringing body positivity to a new level
Our brand is perpetually bringing body positivity to new heights by creating sustainable and inclusive clothing for people of all sizes.
We acknowledge that there are brands who have been criticised for turning body positivity into performative marketing strategy. However, we cannot discount that there is a major victory for people of all sizes to be able to see themselves represented in media through their favourite brands.
Still, there are brands who are working earnestly like we do at Pear Collections, to bring the true message of body positivity to their audiences, followers, and customers. Pear Collections centres around capsule collections built around fit and comfort, meant for a full spectrum of pear-shaped and curvaceous women everywhere.
Beyond fit and comfort provided by our high-quality garments and accessories, we also put a high premium in empowering the Pear Community in rediscovering the path to #lovetheircurves and themselves, and to further support and guide others in their journey.
Furthermore, we also put a high premium on community and generosity by donating 5% of every sale generated to ‘Threads for Homeless’ through our community outreach program ‘Helping Hands.’
It is our hope that winning the “Best Body Positive Designed Clothing Brand” award can be a springboard for us to be able to reach more people while helping them to learn to love and accept themselves.
We firmly believe that all women are inherently beautiful inside and out. Each one of us are worthy of a body-positive shopping experience.
