The Runway That Could Redefine Curves.
Pear Collections started from real experience: standing in fitting rooms, surrounded by clothes that didn’t fit curvier, pear-shaped bodies. It came from the frustration of loving fashion but feeling left out, and the belief that women with curves deserve better.

Our mission is simple: to design clothes that help curvy and pear-shaped women feel confident, comfortable, and celebrated. Each garment we make is carefully considered—from the fit and fabrics selected to how it feels in real life. During the design process, we carefully consider factors such as the waist-to-hip ratio to ensure our garments fit the body seamlessly. This feature enables natural movement and a flattering contour, making dressing effortless while elevating your confidence.
Fashion shows have evolved beyond simply “putting on a show”. Fashion shows, with all eyes on the catwalk and who steps out onto it, are who is represented in the world of style and dress. So ladies, I ask you: Who deserves to be seen on a regional stage, if not women like you? Being part of the Ready to Wear Runway at Toowoomba Fashion Festival 2026 aligns with our passion for real and inclusive fashion, not just in promises, but in action.
A Personal Connection to the Toowoomba Fashion Festival
I first met Julz McBain while working with the Gold Coast Fashion Week team as a featured designer several years ago. At the time, she was an intern at the festival, but even then, I could feel her drive and dedication to the fashion industry and her community. Watching Julz grow from her early days as an intern, move to the regional city of Toowoomba, and become the founder of the Toowoomba Fashion Festival has been truly inspiring. I am personally overjoyed to showcase Pear Collections at TFF this year.
Though the Toowoomba Fashion Festival didn’t happen overnight. It took years of hard work, community involvement, and the sheer belief that regional fashion matters. Julz has built an extraordinary event, a festival that does more than showcase designers but also helps regional creativity blossom.
To now be part of that story as a fashion designer, not just a spectator, feels like arriving full circle. Regional communities are often overlooked in fashion representation, with all eyes on the fashion capitals of the country, Melbourne and Sydney.. Too often, inclusive fashion conversations are centred around these cities, leaving regional women underrepresented both on the runway and in the market.
This is another reason why Pear Collections feels truly aligned with TFF. Women in regional areas deserve access to fashion that fits them beautifully. They deserve to see bodies like theirs represented. By showing up and dressing up, we make discussions about embracing style, confidence, and self-expression possible. Curves are not a limitation but a source of strength. Together, we can make regional runways the norm for inclusive fashion, changing what was once a necessity within a shared ambition that connects and empowers communities across Australia.
Pear Collections Hits The Runway Once Again!
In recent years, we have showcased our designs on runways in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, including at the Queensland Arts and Fashion Festival. These experiences have shaped our brand, shown us how our clothes move and are perceived, and showcased the genuine impact our garments have on women of all shapes and sizes.
We’re incredibly excited for the Toowoomba Fashion Festival and for the opportunity to be featured in an award-winning regional fashion event. The bond within the community grows stronger, audience engagement extends further, and the impact feels deeply personal. Toowoomba Fashion Festival embraces the idea that ‘Curves Create Community’, a mantra we know will resonate and spread far and wide. This is fashion with purpose.
