Pear-shaped women have always had a rough relationship with the fashion industry. I’m sure if you’re reading this, you too are a pear-shaped lady so you’ve had experiences where you must deal with ill-fitting clothes that are simply not built to suit your gorgeous curves.
Having experienced too many horrible experiences shopping myself, I decided that it’s time to put a stop to this horrible relationship. I decided to create Pear Collections a couple of years back to create quality clothing that is designed for us, and more importantly, that fits us.
Pear Collections today has grown into a community where our focus is to encourage healthy living, living happily and comfortable in our own skins. Helping you Love Your Curves is now part of our mission, and we enjoin you to be part of our growing pear-shaped community.
How many times has it been that you went out shopping and literally ended up buying nothing? Were there times when you bought a heap of clothes online only to return half or more than half of the items you purchased? Worse, do you have purchased clothes that have been sitting in your wardrobe unused for, like, ever?
There might be several various reasons why these happen, but if we would take a gander why, chances are, you don’t like the way how you look in those garments. Now step back and ask yourself why, and then come up with a detailed list.
Regardless of the reasons you have on your list, it all boils down to balance! Read on to find out what we mean.
Eventually, everyone needs to recognise and accept that we all have a specific body shape. In our case, it’s the lovely pear. We generally have fuller hips, buttocks, and thighs, a defined waist, and slimmer upper body with narrow shoulders. If this sounds like you, welcome to the client…there are a LOT of us out there. Fun Fact…the pear-shaped body is the most common body shape there is.
All right, you could be a slim/petite pear, an athletic pear, or even a full-figured pear, it does not matter. Our best suggestion is to take care and work with what you have and dress it to impress. The truth of the matter is the most important person you must impress is none other than yourself.
Identifying what pear type you are, and embracing it, makes it so much easier, not only in identifying clothing that would flatter your figure, but also for your peace of mind that you are happy and comfortable with it.
Additionally, learning all about your body shape aids in your style evolution. It is an essential step to nurture your fashion instincts and zero in on a personal style that not only helps you look good and works with new fashion trends, but also makes you feel good.
What is a Pear-Shaped Body?
A pear-shaped body is characterised as having wide hips, high waist, and narrower bust and shoulder lines. Again, we reiterate that it is the most common body type and there might be a lot of shopping options for us. But it is not uncommon to have setbacks finding bottoms or even dresses that fit properly depending on our specific measurements.
A person with a pear-shaped body has fat concentrating on the bottom part of the body, which is distributed around the hips, buttocks, and thighs.
Regardless of our pear body type, our goal is to create and strike a balance between our lower and upper halves. We must add emphasis to our upper half while de-emphasising our lower body to create a balance silhouette.
Why Pear-Shaped Bodies are Awesome
Pear shapes are lovely body types. Any body type can be attractive, for that matter. So, if you have a pear-shaped body, you are awesome!
The pear-shaped body is also known to as the spoon or triangle body shape. The bottom line is that your upper body is smaller than your lower body.
Simply put, you do not have an hourglass figure. Very few women do. However, you do have a fabulous body that people go through drastic measures to get.
What naturally occurs for us can be a pain for others. Our abs can be well-defined, our waists are naturally small and well-defined. Our waist and hips are attention grabbers. And best of all, we have shapely and/or curvy bottoms.
If you are pear-shaped, you know what I’m talking about. Did you know Beyoncé has a pear-shaped body? Here’s the thing, most curvy celebrities are pear-shaped women. So, channel that inner celebrity in you because you are a star.
Pear shapes have the unique advantage of looking great in almost every pair of jeans imaginable, and we can easily make dainty tops look even daintier thanks to our narrower shoulders. But no matter what features you might want to flaunt, or shift focus from, we at Pear Collections are here to dress your lovely pear-shaped figure.
Your body shape is beautiful, no matter what type it is. And we at Pear Collections would even dare that self-confidence should be added as a silhouette on a body shape chart.
Whatever style you choose, the key to success is striking a good balance. Remember that what we impart here are just tips to help you get more comfortable in your own skin. Confidence alone is beautiful.
Although we are of different sizes, shapes, ages, or colours, we are all beautiful women. Choosing the right clothes that makes you feel good and comfortable is important. After all, we are all unique, beautiful individuals with distinct fashion preferences. But we must also share what we know to help each other be the best versions of ourselves, beautiful curves, and all.
